Atelier for Music, Visual Arts & Creative Exchange

About EMOH LEEF

EMOH LEEF is a living space for music, art, and human connection. Rooted in Neuchâtel, Switzerland it gathers artists, musicians, and curious minds to listen, create, and exchange. Here, sound meets image, rhythm meets thought, and community becomes the medium.

Through concerts, exhibitions, and encounters, EMOH LEEF cultivates moments of openness, spaces where art unfolds collectively, where inspiration circulates, and where new forms of togetherness can emerge.

Singer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist from Valencia, Xavi Gómez moves effortlessly between jazz, soul and flamenco fusion. From childhood on, music has been his language: rhythm, harmony and melody flow together with natural ease. A one-man show full of warmth and presence, he opens the evening with Mediterranean light and groove, storytelling through strings and voice.

Paella Break

An essential part of this first year has been our special volunteers Modesta, Evaristo & Tomas, who have supported us from the very beginning, always with a smile and with homemade food that is simply unforgettable. They are back, bringing their legendary Paella to life once again, cooked right on site in the garage and filling the air with warmth, laughter and the smell of the South.

Gabriel Zufferey & Friends (Geneva) - feat. Ruby Francis (London)

When London met Neuchâtel for the very first time at EMOH LEEF, it was the beautiful and talented Ruby Francis sitting at the piano, sharing her music and her voice. Her concert marked the beginning of EMOH LEEF’s story and set the tone for the warm, soulful atmosphere that followed.

This time she returns with Gabriel Zufferey & Friends, a radiant ensemble of leading Swiss musicians!

Gabriel Zufferey (piano, percussion), Killian Perret-Gentil (guitar), Ben Jaton (double bass) and Cyril Regamey (drums & percussion): each is known for their creativity within the Swiss jazz and improvisation scene. Together they weave a lush soundscape where jazz meets soul and free expression meets melody.

Ruby joins them for a special appearance, performing songs from her new album Pages of Philosophy, blending the elegance of live improvisation with her unmistakable London energy.

Later on, she’ll take over the decks – bringing that same vibrant spirit to the dance floor.

IG Culture (London)

We can hardly believe it ourselves: IG Culture is coming to EMOH LEEF!

A true legend of London’s underground, a pioneer of the broken beat movement, and a restless explorer of rhythm, sound and soul. For more than three decades, IG Culture has been shaping the heartbeat of a scene that connects jazz, funk, hip hop and electronic music into something deeply human and irresistibly alive.

With projects like New Sector Movements and CoOp Presents, he built bridges between generations, between dancefloors and consciousness, between London and the world.

At EMOH LEEF’s first anniversary, he brings this spirit to Neuchâtel, a celebration of community, rhythm and resistance, where basslines breathe, drums converse and bodies remember what it means to move together.

Let’s dance together into EMOH LEEF’s next year!

Claire days: I remember something

With I remember something, French artist Claire days invites us into a world where memory and melody intertwine. Between folk intimacy and shimmering pop, her songs explore what remains after turbulence — moments of doubt, tenderness and reconciliation turned into sound.

Co-produced with English musician Fink and released in spring 2025 on her label CONTREJOURS, the album unfolds like an imperfect recollection of two years: fragile, luminous, and profoundly human.

At EMOH LEEF, Claire will perform in duo formation, her voice and guitar joined by a companion on keys and electric guitar. Together, they weave textures of light and shadow, songs that breathe and grow with each note.

An evening of quiet intensity, where emotion takes shape through resonance and presence.

Just Us - Listening Session: Calling KAMAL SABRAN

Calling the world while feeling at home

Our Listening Sessions transform the EMOH LEEF Atelier into a space for deep sound, shared discoveries and musical storytelling. Each edition gathers a hand-picked mix of DJs, producers and artists who open up their sonic worlds, from intimate experiments to timeless vinyl gems. Some bring their own productions, others trace their influences through unexpected selections, building a collective journey through rhythm, texture and emotion.

Every session also reaches beyond Neuchâtel: we connect live with an international guest, streaming their performance and conversation directly into the room. For our first edition, happening on a Saturday afternoon, we’ll be joined by Kamal Sabran directly from Malaysia, sharing sounds across continents and time zones.

Kamal Sabran is a multidisciplinary artist, musician and researcher based in Ipoh, Malaysia. His work explores the intersection of sound, science and spirituality, blending experimental electronics with traditional instruments and ambient field recordings. Through his ongoing project Space Gambus Experiment, he creates immersive sonic worlds that connect technology, culture and healing. Kamal’s performances and collaborations span international festivals, art spaces and research labs, making him one of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive voices in experimental sound.

This is not a concert, not a party: it’s an occasion to listen together, to slow down and connect.
Good vibes, warm lights, and homemade treats.

After December, the Listening Sessions will continue every second Friday of the month, each time with a new lineup, an international guest and different stories to tell.

Can’t wait to hear our friends play and bring these musical worlds together at EMOH LEEF!

Modo n°68 – A Community Artwork by ELTONO

Prébarreau, Neuchâtel | October 2025 – ongoing

After our inaugural wall action Inside Out: “La Source de Prébarreau”, EMOH LEEF presents its next large-scale intervention on the concrete wall facing our Atelier in Neuchâtel. This time with internationally renowned artist Eltono, known for his site-specific and participatory works in public space.

Born in Madrid in 1975, Eltono has created colourful, geometric interventions in more than 120 cities worldwide. His practice transforms chance and structure into collective creation, engaging architecture, environment and community. His work has been shown at institutions such as Tate Modern, Somerset House, Fundación Miró and Artium Museum.

With Modo n°68, Eltono brought his participatory approach to Neuchâtel. Over the weekend of October 4 & 5, 2025, ninety-six participants collaborated to build a large-scale geometric collage. Following a playful system of dice rolls, each participant determined the shape, colour and placement of their piece, cutting and pasting it onto the wall. The result is a vibrant composition shaped by randomness, rhythm and shared intention.

As with our previous wall project, the mural is ephemeral. Weather and time will gradually dissolve it, making space for the next one, a new chapter in this evolving series.

This ongoing outdoor exhibition series, curated by EMOH LEEF, explores the intersection of art, community and urban environment. Each intervention engages residents and visitors alike in an evolving dialogue between creation, decay, and regeneration.

Location: EMOH LEEF, Rue de Prébarreau 10, Neuchâtel

The Atelier

EMOH LEEF’s Atelier is a former glassblowing and painting workshop at the ground floor of an apartment building. The Prébarreau district of Neuchâtel is a vibrant, mixed-use area that brings together manufacturers, coffee roasters, workshops, public offices, and creative spaces such as artists’ and dance studios. While traces of its industrial past, like the old mill building, remain, the district has evolved into a hub of creative energy driven by its people. Today, it serves also as a pedestrian shortcut, where the community shapes the area’s artistic and cultural landscape. The area offers unexpected views of the collegial and other landmarks, and is just minutes away from the city center, lake, and main train station.
